How did career school affect your career path?

At the time, Commercial Divers International was in the middle of building its second school in Ohio. But even with their full schedules, they did a good job at managing their students and their staff. I was very impressed. That's what pushed me to join their school. I feel like all of the topics were well discussed and stuck to a structure that mimicked the fieldwork. They also helped with networking and connections, the process was simple.

How did Lumion help you on your educational journey?

Lumion really helped me out with funding for my education. I don't remember who in admin pointed me toward Lumion, but I called in and they walked me through the process. We briefly discussed how it works, the payments, and how to fill out the application. I just started making payments and I know if I have any questions, I can call and someone will always respond.

How has it been working in your field since graduation?

I'm currently working with Aqueos out in Louisiana. They're an offshore diving company that deals in marine construction, oil and gas sectors, and other fields. I'm not diving yet, because I need to work my way up to that. I'm currently a Tender right now, and have had one dive since graduation because they do what's called 'splash divers'. Every once in a while, they allow Tenders to do simpler tasks to get more ocean experience. I look forward to having many more dives in the new year!

What advice do you have for those pursuing a career school education?

My honest advice is: just try it. If you're interested in the industry and are convinced it's what you want to do, just go for it. If you're not certain, go to a local school. If that staff is anything like it was at my school, they'll talk to you and answer your questions regarding the field.
